Have you ever found yourself looking at the clock, tapping your pencil, waiting for 5 pm to arrive, and it can’t come soon enough? Or even the inverse…you have evening plans, but your supervisor unexpectedly requires you to stay late. In either scenario, you’re disappointed. Why? Maybe it’s because you aren’t calling your own shots. You have to “work” until 5 pm because that’s what your boss demands, or you have to work late because that’s what your boss demands.
There are many reasons why you might want to be your own boss, but in my estimation, it all boils down to one thing…self-fulfillment. Finding joy in a job that doesn’t fully utilize your skills or challenge your abilities is hard.
Starting your own business and being your own boss will challenge you to:
ShipSheWanna Trading Place has a quick read on 12 Realistic Reasons to Be Your Own Boss.

To me, it really boils down to who you are as a person. If you can be happy in a structured job that asks you to use the same skills every day, then that is great. If you feel like there is something more for you out there, that you are designed to be challenged, not placated, then perhaps being your own boss is the right route for you.
{YEL!} is a business that allows you to maximize your growth as a business leader. With {YEL!} you start a business for yourself, not by yourself. We walk shoulder-to-shoulder with you every step of the way to help you reach your business goals.
{YEL!} already operates all around Wisconsin. We have programs in Madison, Green Bay, Osh Kosh, La Crosse, Hudson, and more locations. We have spoken with a number of communities around Milwaukee and they have great interest in what we do, we just need someone in Milwaukee to run these programs. Is that someone you?
Parents and students all over the Wisconsin want what {YEL!} offers:
Look at your immediate community. Do you have chess classes in your schools? Do children have access to learning coding beyond basic, introductory ideas? Do alternative athletes have access to sports classes and programs like fencing? Would starting a {YEL!} franchise business be beneficial to your community?
Imagine becoming a hero in your community by bringing necessary programs like these to students and schools. Imagine the thousands of smiles your teachers will receive, the depth of learning gained in these inventive classes, and the goodwill earned in your schools and your community.
Quick anecdote…When I first started {YEL!}, I would teach brick building classes, and I was known as Super LEGO Dude. I would occasionally be stopped at the local mall by a student of mine exclaiming to his mom, “Mom, that’s the guy. That’s Super LEGO Dude.” It always put a smile on my face and a bounce in my step.
Being your own boss is great! Being a hero and making a difference in your community is so rewarding! Making a great living doing all of this is amazing!
Kamau Wilkins is a busy dad with three children, one of whom is on his way to college in the fall. Kamau decided to start a business and become {YEL!}’s first franchisee. He started a business to have something he can build for himself, leave to his family, or he can sell in retirement. Kamau has been able to provide for his family, and coach his son to three state fencing championships (two as an individual and one with Kamau’s fencing team), all the while being there for his family and his community. Kamau’s business has done so well that his wife decided to leave her job and join Kamau running {YEL!}. Together they continue to build one of the strongest youth organizations in Minnesota.
Are you looking to provide for your family? Are you looking for more freedom? Are you looking to grow personally and professionally? Are you looking to start your own business and be your own boss?
