Fencing Tournament – Beginners

This is an introductory tournament for novice/beginner (less than one year of classes) fencing athletes.  We foster a nurturing, helpful environment to introduce newer fencers to how fencing tournaments are formatted and run.

How it works:

• To start, fencers are placed into pools of between 5-8 fencers, dependent on the number of participants.

—- Pools are set by grade level (Grades 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-12).  So fencers will only fence against athletes in their grade levels.

• In pools, fencers face all others in that pool.

• Fencers are then seeded into a bracket style, direct elimination event.

† Medals & Trophies:  Trophies are given out to 1st – 5th place in each grade level category.  Medals are given out based on final placement.  Every student will get either a trophy or a medal by the end of the day.
