Our devoted head coach, Kamau Wilkins, Coach of the 2-time Men’s State Champion and the 2023 Men’s Team Foil State Champions, invites your student-athlete to come find their sport and make friends.
At SEMN YEL Fencing Club, we foster camaraderie and competitiveness in a fun atmosphere. We emphasize athleticism, fencing literacy, and the personal growth of our fencers on the piste and in the community. Practice is conveniently located at Bamber Valley Elementary, so this fencing club fits into your life and your commute.

Who is the {YEL!} Fencing Club for?
We’ve designed the {YEL!} SE MN Fencing Club for fencers who:
- Have one year of experience fencing or have completed the {YEL!} band promotion program from our Community Education classes.
- Want to increase their skill in fencing rapidly.
- Want to improve their results in local, regional, and national fencing tournaments.
- Want the camaraderie that a club has with the opportunity to get to know other competitive fencers on a personal level and to encourage each other at tournaments.
- Want more personalized instruction.
- Want to study with top coaches in SE MN.
- Want to fence on electric strips often each week.
- Own all of their equipment.
The SE MN Fencing Program, run by Kamau Wilkins, owner of SEMN YEL, has achieved great success in local fencing circles. Kamau Wilkins is also the coach of the 2023 MN MF Team State Champion, as well as the 2022 and 2023 MN MF Individual State

Champion, Mateo Wilkins. Mateo is an accomplished student-athlete, having received two Academic All American awards and an All American Runner Up title. Coach Wilkins is passionate about fencing and other youth sports, and the SE MN Fencing Program is committed to nurturing student-athletes on their athletic journeys. Our program is fun and kid-friendly, and our assistant coaches are personally trained by Coach Wilkins to get the best out of our fencers. We continue to travel, study, and improve competitiveness to further our success.
